I ventured out last night for a evening of karaoke with two girl friends and a guy friend.
What a hoot!!
What I thought would be a very boring evening of listening to really really bad singing and a bunch of drunk folks, turned out to be an amazingly bizarre yet very entertaining evening!! First off I was the designated driver, which in itself is the bestest idea anyone going out for drunken debauchery should always, always have unless they plan on taking a taxi! I had no desire whatsoever to even go out, I am still paining something fierce from M and I's break-up, and knowing I wouldn't be having any liquid pain killer made me second guess my promise to go out and be the dd. I am sure I wasn't the best of company but everyone got home safe!
So we walk into the bar and there was NOBODY there! It was dead. Imagine that eh? Sunday night, snowy roads, small little town don''t equal a riveting night life. There had to have been maybe a dozen of us there. I was introduced to this guy, I had met him once before, actually he was in my kitchen dressed as a woman! A very hot looking woman! He preforms as a cross dresser and his wife sells adult pleasure products. I really should have know that it wasn't going to boring evening for long!
Not fifteen minutes after arriving there, a group of people walked in. It was a mix of guys and gals about 12 of them. And they sat right there behind us. Not paying much attention to them except they were being very loud and boisterous. The cross dresser got up and sang "Under the sea" from the Little Mermaid, and the group behind us went ballistic! Hooting and hollering and getting up to dance. It was a sight to see cause that is when I noticed they had to have been a theater troupe, cause everyone of them was doing dramatic dance on that floor! They woman were wearing weird clothes, nothing too outrageous, just different and the men, the men were all flamboyantly gay! Just like you would see in some cheesy comedy!
After a few songs from Madonna and Frank Sinatra, they broke out the show tunes! All was what you would typically see in a movie! I was a riot! I went out thinking how bored I would be just to be thoroughly entertained! A wonderful, inexpensive (read free), hilarious evening! One that I don't think I will ever have the pleasure of witnessing again. :-(
Christmas here came and went. The girls got spoiled as usual. I got them a wii and we have been playing it constantly. Felica and I were up past midnight playing it one night! Midnight? I know not that late, but for someone who is used to going to bed at 9 cause I get up at 4, midnight is HUGE! I am feeling really melancholy right now. M and I met a year ago today and our first date was on New Years. Life will go on, but I just want the pain to stop. It will I know.
Until next time!
