As summer comes to a close...

I am hoping my blogs become more frequent.

Summer was a BLAST! We spent alot of time up at the lake. The girls love going up there. Well Katie loves it more so then Felica. Honestly, does anybody know a teenage girl that would like being cut of from civilization with no internet, no cell phones and *gasp* no teenage boys!!
Does this look like the face of someone thoroughly enjoying her summer??

Mind you she did enjoy swimming. Both of them LOVE to swim. Ever since Felica was little she loved the water. Katie, not so much. Funny story from the past... Katie always swam with a little life jacket on which bugged me to no end. I thought that if she ever fell in without that life jacket she would be screwed. So about two years ago we were all lounging on the dock when I suddenly threw her in the water, no life jacket nothing. I was confident that she would be okay and she was. The swimming with the jacket gave her the skills she needed for basic swimming. Ever since she too has loved the water!

Sadly there is also work to be done up there building the cabin. Last time we were up I was crawling under the place insulating the floor. While at the time I was cursing and grumbling about it,getting all dirty, having a warm floor come late fall/winter, I will really appreciate it!!

While I am sad to see summer end I am looking forward to fall too. I love making soups and stews, comfort food really. Anything that needs to simmer or bake always puts a smile on my face.
I hope everyone else enjoyed their summer as much as we did! I will be posting more pics of summer over the next few days... I have lots!! Mike and my mom love to take pictures and I have so many on this laptop of mine. So on that note... here is a bunch of random ones in no particular order...
